I get to love me today ♡

The words "woke up this morning with my mind set on loving me" caught my attention as they came through the speaker this morning. I've heard the song "Holy" by Jamila Woods countless times, and yet today, as I stepped out of the shower, I thought, "Oh yeah, that's right: no matter what, I get to love me today."

Loving myself wholeheartedly starts with small daily choices. They are the foundation for fighting my negative thinking. Today, the choice I made was looking myself fully in the eye and sending gratitude and love to all my less-than-perfect bits.

Thank you, tiny lines around my eyes. You show me the joy of laughter, I love you.

Thank you, red, uneven skin. You show me all the women in my lineage, I love you.

Thank you, grey hairs. You show me how far I've come, I love you.

Because this is me, unfiltered, and as Jamila reminds me, "My cup is full up, what I got is enough."
